Five Year Anniversary - San Francisco

I was surprised on Mother's Day with a wonderful treat of getting to spend our five year anniversary in San Francisco, California. I was a little hesitant at first because it would be my first time away from Madison. Our parents would be taking care of them which made it a lot easier for us.

We went to San Francisco on Thursday and finally got to our hotel after a long plane ride around 6:30 pm (pacific time). We were able to rent a car which made it a lot easier for us to get around San Fran. We wanted to see the sites, so after cleaning up at the hotel we headed out to see the Golden Gate Bridge. We went across the Golden Gate to a town called Sausailto and ate dinner over there. One of the highlights of the trip was going to Alcatraz. It was a really awesome experience. I didn't think that I would enjoy it very much at all, but it was really a very cool experience. We also got to enjoy many more of the sites in San Francisco including Lombard St, Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, a beautiful beach, fun breakfast cafes, and an awesome Anniversary dinner on the 52nd floor of the Bank of America building. We got to see the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge. It was so romantic and an anniversary that I will never forget.

We had a wonderful time. I was very shocked how much I didn't miss Madison. Come Sunday, I was really excited to come home and see her. She looked complete different and was so excited to see us. Thanks Kelly and Pauletta and Dad and Mom for taking care of our baby girl, so we could enjoy a vacation together.

My brother got MARRIED

My baby brother got married this weekend. They got married Friday, June 6th. It was a beautiful wedding here in Austin, Madison and I were in the wedding.

It was a wonderful day to have a birthday party. The birthday party was at a park in Georgetown. Madison really didn't know what was going on, but was having so much fun seeing all of her friends and family.

One year ago today...

One year ago today, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Madison Faith Reeves into our lives. Our lives will never be the same. She is truly a blessing in our lives and we will be forever grateful to our Heavenly Father for her. We can not even explain how much we love her and what she means to us.


I can't believe how fast a year goes by. When people tell you to enjoy every moment of the first year, it is so true. She is learning something new everyday and amazes us with her knowledge.

Mother's Day

I had my first Mother's Day on Sunday. It was so awesome. We didn't do anything which was so nice. I really enjoyed hanging out with Brad and Madison.

New words...

All weekend Madison said "Momma" which really filled my heart, but I am not exactly sure if she knew what she was saying. We also went to the store and every person that passed by us she would say "Hi". It is her new word. It is so exciting to hear her talk. She talked the entire weekend. What she said we don't know, but man did she use those lungs. It is just crazy to think that in the next couple of months she will be walking and talking up a storm and we will actually be able to understand what she is saying. I will have to post some recent pictures of her room. We redid it over the weekend and put things up on the walls that needed to go up since she was born. Time sure does fly by...

11 months old

OH MY GOSH!! My baby girl is 11 months old today. I can't believe it. I have already started getting ready for her first birthday, but never really sat down and realized that she is growing up so fast. She has started taking steps, but they are prompted and she holds on to my hand. This next month she is going to grow up so fast. I can't believe how fast this year as gone by. For those moms that have babies cherish every moment that you spend with them because they will grow up so fast. I really didn't believe my friends whose children are older than me when they said that, but it is so true.

So on my way to work this morning. I was listening to a song that I have listened to several times, but this time I was really moved after listening to it. It is by an amazing artist, Andrew Peterson. We were introduced to him by our best friends in college and have been listening to him every since, but I never really LISTENED to the words. You will never know the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross. He is the reason that we are living and breathing today.

Sweet Berry Farms weekend

We went to Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls over the weekend. It was a lot of fun and Madison really enjoyed riding in her red wagon. We picked lots of berries and ate some too along the way. Here are some pictures....
